Job Description Data Manager Location:
Bethesda, MD (Onsite) Overview We are seeking a Data Manager to support a high-visibility environment focused on enterprise data management, integration, and governance. This role is responsible for ensuring enterprise data is reliable, well-structured, and accessible to meet evolving operational requirements. The ideal candidate has experience working across enterprise data environments, supporting integration efforts, improving data quality, and contributing to governance and configuration management processes. Key Responsibilities Support enterprise data lifecycle activities including ingestion, storage, usage, archiving, and retention Execute data governance practices such as standards development, validation rules, metadata management, and data quality controls Integrate and reconcile data from multiple sources to improve interoperability across systems Support development and maintenance of enterprise data repositories and storage platforms Perform data quality analysis and implement improvements to enhance reliability and reduce manual processing Participate in configuration management and documentation review processes to ensure traceability and version control Analyze data structures, workflows, and policies to identify process and accessibility improvements Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports, and briefings related to data governance and integration Support implementation of data models, schemas, and enterprise data standards Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to support evolving data requirements Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations clearly through written and verbal formats Required Qualifications Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in data management, data analysis, or enterprise data environments (or 12+ years of experience without a degree) Experience supporting data lifecycle management and data governance initiatives Experience with data integration, interoperability, and metadata management Knowledge of configuration management practices, documentation governance, and version control Proficiency with tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, Access, or similar technologies Experience working with data repositories, databases, or enterprise storage platforms Strong analytical skills with the ability to improve data quality and operational efficiency Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments Preferred Qualifications Experience working in large-scale enterprise or mission-driven environments Familiarity with data governance frameworks and metadata standards Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms Exposure to cloud-based data environments and enterprise storage architectures Experience with automation or workflow optimization in data ingestion or reporting Familiarity with data interoperability frameworks and data exchange methods Experience supporting structured documentation or technical review processes Deliverables Data lifecycle documentation Data governance and quality plans Data integration and interoperability documentation Data repository and system documentation Configuration management artifacts and documentation reviews Data standards and architecture recommendations Data performance and reliability reports Why Join This role provides the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment supporting enterprise data initiatives. The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
