In this role, you will lead the configuration, administration, and continuous improvement of SCADA systems, while ensuring system reliability, security compliance, and operational efficiency . This is a senior-level individual contributor role with high visibility and cross-functional impact. This is a contract position based in Detroit, MI. Key Responsibilities:
Lead SCADA system configuration, administration, and optimization Troubleshoot and resolve OT system issues (software, hardware, communications) Manage servers, workstations, databases, and OS environments within OT Support integration of remote field devices (PLCs, RTUs, flow computers) Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure NERC/FERC and security compliance Plan and deploy system upgrades, patches, and new applications Develop and maintain system interfaces, reports, and data integrations Lead cross-functional OT projects and technical initiatives Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering , or related field 4+ years of experience in: SCADA systems Operational Technology (OT) or industrial environments IT infrastructure (servers, databases, networking)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SCADA platforms and industrial control systems Background in cybersecurity operations or compliance frameworks Programming/scripting experience (PowerShell, C#, Perl, or similar) Database administration (SQL, Oracle, or equivalent) Experience with PLCs, RTUs, and field instrumentation Certifications such as GIAC (SANS) or similar
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work independently and lead technical problem-solving Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities Must pass DOT drug screening and ongoing compliance requirements Ability to complete FERC-required training
