Job Description

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
Required Qualifications:
  • Project intake coordination experience with Software Projects/Hardware IT
  • Strong financial/compliance awareness (Capital vs. O&M)
  • Proficiency in JIRA/SharePoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in complex scenarios.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ideal candidates come from project coordination, PMO support, IT governance, finance operations, or business analysis roles
  • Experience working in environments that require process adherence, data accuracy, and cross-functional coordination is highly preferred
  • Experience with fixed assets, capital project management, or capital project budgeting preferred.
  • Understanding of CapEx vs. OpEx principles and financial governance.
  • Familiarity with AI and automation tools for process optimization.
  • Knowledge of IT project lifecycle and software implementation practices.
The Capital Analyst on the Project Intake team plays a critical role in evaluating software-related capital projects. This position ensures compliance with internal capitalization policies and supports accurate financial classification of project activities. Capital Analyst will review, validate, and coordinate project intake requests—ensuring completeness, policy compliance, and timely routing through PIT, CAA, and supporting teams.
Responsibilities:
Project Assessment & IntakeReview incoming project requests for alignment with capital policy and strategic objectives.

Validate completeness of Statements of Work (SOWs) and supporting documentation.

Capital vs. O&M AnalysisAnalyze project deliverables and costs to determine proper classification (CapEx vs. OpEx).Provide clear documentation and recommendations for financial coding.

Stakeholder CollaborationPartner with IT teams, Finance, and project managers to ensure accurate intake and classification.

Communicate findings and recommendations in clear, concise language for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Governance & ComplianceEnsure adherence to internal capital software policy and regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate records for audit and reporting purposes.

Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to streamline intake and classification workflows.

Leverage automation and AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
