Job Description
Service Analyst St. Louis, MO Job Description The Service Analyst oversees the full lifecycle of laptop and related hardware assets, from procurement and deployment through maintenance, recovery, and secure disposal. In this role, you assign and ship devices to users, track assets in ServiceNow, manage returned equipment, and ensure accurate records and compliance with internal policies. This position offers a strong opportunity to gain hands-on experience with large-scale device deployment and asset management in a dynamic IT environment. Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of hardware assets, including laptops, desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices. Coordinate procurement, deployment, maintenance, recovery, and disposal processes using platforms such as ServiceNow. Assign laptops and other devices to users in ServiceNow and ensure accurate asset ownership records. Arrange shipping of devices to users and update associated tickets to reflect status and completion. Receive returned laptops, perform factory resets, and check them back into ServiceNow for reuse or secure disposal. Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset records to support inventory control and audit readiness. Ensure compliance with internal asset management policies and external regulations related to hardware handling and data security. Conduct regular asset audits and generate cleanup reports to maintain data integrity and identify discrepancies. Support daily asset deployment and recovery activities to meet operational and project timelines. Essential Skills Ability to commit to a short-term assignment and support the full duration of the project. Strong ability to follow detailed work instructions and established procedures. Strong analytical skills to review asset data, identify discrepancies, and support accurate reporting. Functional knowledge of Windows operating systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication. Comfort working with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow for asset tracking and ticket management. Additional Skills & Qualifications Eagerness to learn and grow professionally within an IT asset management environment. Demonstrated ability to be an active, supportive team player. Self-driven mindset with the ability to use the role as a development opportunity. Interest in understanding how large-scale IT contracts are executed and supported from an operational perspective. Work Environment This is an on-site role based in Maryland Heights, MO, with standard hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and a 1-hour lunch break. The organization provides a laptop to perform your work. The position involves a balanced mix of desk-based tasks and physical activity, with approximately 50% of the time spent at a workstation handling system updates, ticketing, and documentation, and 50% spent on your feet handling hardware, shipping, receiving, and inventory activities. You will work in a professional IT environment that relies on ServiceNow and Microsoft Office, and you will interact regularly with IT, asset management, and service desk teams in a collaborative setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Maryland Heights, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
