Division of Information Systems Job Summary:
The Intelligence Analyst-Senior is responsible for transforming complex data into strategic, actionable insights that enable informed decision-making across the organization. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to gather and translate both business and technical requirements into effective analytics solutions. It leads the development and optimization of advanced dashboards, reports, and visualizations, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. The role involves mentoring analysts through work reviews and reinforcing best practices in data quality and visualization. It also supports leadership by uncovering opportunities to streamline processes and drive data-informed decisions.
Education & Experience Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of work experience in data intelligence analytics. Certifications, Licenses, or Registration required: Epic certification or accreditation in one of the following data models required post-hire within six (6) months: Clinical Data Model, Access Data Model or Revenue Data Model. An Epic assessment will be given to those candidates who pass the initial review step of the interview process.

Proficient in SQL with hands-on experience in ETL processes and end-to-end solution delivery. Skilled in analyzing and troubleshooting complex systems, programming, and enhancing custom applications. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports. Brings a solid foundation in high-level mathematical analysis to support data-driven insights and system improvements. Responsibilities Manages complex projects by planning, coordinating, and overseeing all project activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines. This includes defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables and ensuring tasks are completed following established standards. Ensures effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to achieve project milestones and deliver high-quality outcomes. Acts as a mentor by sharing knowledge, best practices, and providing ongoing support to peers. Provides guidance and mentorship to junior team members to support skill development and team growth. Lead the design, development, and maintenance of custom reports, dashboards, and data visualizations within the Epic ecosystem, leveraging Epic BI tools and data visualization platforms such as Qlik to drive operational efficiency and support strategic initiatives. Maintains understanding of ETL processes and interprets ETL code. Utilize in-depth knowledge of Epic data models to build and optimize complex queries, ensuring alignment with business requirements, organizational policies, and compliance with industry and regulatory standards. Analyze research, education, clinical, financial, operational, and patient care data to uncover trends, identify performance gaps, and highlight opportunities for improvement. Deliver automated, high-impact reports that enable data-driven decision-making across departments. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs), interpret data findings, and develop actionable recommendations that support organizational goals. Monitor data quality, validate analytical outputs, and implement standardized methodologies to enhance the accuracy, reliability, and usability of reporting and visualization tools. Serve as a liaison between clinical, operational, and IT teams to assess reporting needs and design scalable, integrated solutions that ensure consistent and accurate data across systems. Translate business requirements into detailed system specifications by collaborating with DIS staff, end users, and vendors. Contribute to application development or enhancement efforts and produce technical documentation in accordance with UMMC policies. Develop user guides and training resources; lead end-user training sessions to ensure effective adoption and utilization of analytics tools and reports. Actively participate in technical and governance committees to identify project risks, monitor progress, and support the timely delivery of analytics initiatives and organizational priorities.
