JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MSS Intern to join our team. This internship is ideal for sophomores, juniors, or seniors pursuing a degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology who are interested in gaining hands-on experience supporting IT and OT network operations. The intern will assist with network asset management, hardware procurement, inventory intake, and routine maintenance activities while collaborating closely with project managers and technical teams.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Network Asset Inventory Assist in maintaining an accurate and up-to-date inventory of network assets Help ensure proper documentation and tracking of IT/OT equipment IT/OT Hardware Procurement Support procurement processes for IT and OT hardware, including: Servers Modems Network equipment and configuration components Assist with coordinating orders and tracking device status Case Record Maintenance Maintain detailed records related to the procurement and deployment of devices Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and organized Coordination with Project Managers Collaborate with IT/OT project managers to schedule shipping of devices to various sites Support communication and coordination efforts related to deployment timelines Hardware & Inventory Intake Assist with the intake process for devices received at headquarters Verify shipments, label equipment, and update inventory systems accordingly Scheduled Maintenance Perform routine maintenance on IT/OT network devices Support upkeep of network gear in accordance with established procedures
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & EDUCATION
Currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in a bachelor's degree program Preferred concentrations include: Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology (or related fields)
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Strong organizational and documentation skills Basic understanding of networking concepts and hardware Interest in cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, or OT environments Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting Attention to detail and willingness to learn
WORK SCHEDULE
Approximately 20-25 hours per week Flexible scheduling available to accommodate academic commitments This internship is anticipated to run through the summer semester, with a potential extension into the fall semester based on business needs and performance.
LOCATION & COMPENSATION
This is a paid internship based in our Charlotte, NC office.
