Advertising Summary:
New Mexico Water Resources at New Mexico State University is seeking an experienced IT professional to lead and manage its complex technology infrastructure. This position is responsible for administering enterprise Linux and Windows systems, Active Directory, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services, databases, web servers, GIS technologies, and field-based telemetry systems that support statewide water research. The role supervises IT staff and student employees, develops custom software and automation tools, manages hardware and software lifecycles, and ensures the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of NM WRRI's mission-critical information technology environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze management and organization's needs, and design, implement, maintain, and administer WRRI IT infrastructures. Supervise and lead lower graded staff and student employees. Participates in budget planning, implementation, and monitoring for purchase and maintenance of hardware and software. Troubleshoot and implement corrective measures. Maintain currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Administer department networking.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree + 7 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 5 years of relevant experience.
Equivalent Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of experience directly related to the job duties and responsibilities as outlined.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort Environment:
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Physical Effort:
Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.
Lifting Requirements:
Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
