Job Description

AI Systems Analyst & Builder Sticker Pack, Inc. | Sparks, Nevada | Onsite, full time | $70,000 starting salary | Read the whole post for application directions Brief Summary We make custom stickers and magnets for national parks, gift shops, resort towns, and the tourist shops you wander into on every road trip. There is a decent chance something we printed is on a fridge near you right now. We run two production facilities in the Reno area, our people are genuinely great, and we have decided to build our own software instead of renting someone else's. We are looking for one person who is half analyst, half builder, and fully dangerous with AI. You will figure out how our business actually works, map it, find what the data is telling us, and then build the tools that fix it, with Claude as your daily driver. Some weeks you will be deep in SQL figuring out why reorders dropped. Some weeks you will be shipping a feature the sales team uses the same afternoon. Most weeks, both. Let's be honest about the filter. This is not a job for someone who is "interested in AI." It is for someone who already builds with it every day, knows exactly where it lies to you, and gets a little irritated when a process takes three clicks that should take zero. You do not need ten years of experience. You do need to be very, very good, and hungry to get better. The good news : you won't be figuring it out alone. You will work closely with an experienced senior engineer who reviews your work and helps you level up fast. If you read this and thought "finally," keep going. What Success Looks Like First 30 days: you know our stack, our data, and our people, and you have shipped at least one real fix or report that someone on the floor noticed. First 90 days: our core workflows (quote to order to production to invoice) are mapped with clear entrance and exit criteria, and you own at least one internal tool end to end. Leadership answers key business questions from a dashboard instead of waiting on a spreadsheet. Sales and production staff spend measurably less time on admin work because something you built does it for them. Our SOPs are current, clear, and actually used, by people and by our AI assistant. Every system you touch is documented well enough that someone else could pick it up tomorrow. Duties & Responsibilities Roughly half analysis and process, half building. The mix will shift week to week. Process Mapping & SOPs Sit with Sales, Production, and the warehouse to learn how work actually happens, then map it: swimlanes, handoffs, entrance and exit criteria. Write and maintain our SOPs as clean markdown files. These are not shelf documents. They feed our internal Slack AI assistant, so a good SOP literally makes the whole company smarter. Keep our data definitions consistent, so "active account" means the same thing in every report and every system. Turn "that's just how we've always done it" into a system, and explain the why to the people who use it. Data & Analysis Query, clean, and analyze sales, customer, and production data (SQL, Python, pandas) to answer real questions: churn risk, reorder behavior, rep performance, margin by product line. Build dashboards and reports that leadership actually opens. Spot the problem before anyone asks. Bring the owners the number that changes the conversation. Build Design, build, and ship internal tools and features using AI assisted development, on Supabase (Postgres), Vercel, Shopify, GitHub, and Slack. Improve our internal Slack AI assistant: what it knows, what it can look up, and how well it answers. Connect systems through APIs and webhooks so data gets entered once and flows everywhere it needs to go. Review and test what AI writes before it ships. You own the output, not the model.
Follow our review rules:
changes to the database, money, customer data, or permissions get a senior review before they merge. Who You Work With Our systems lead: your manager and day to day partner. Owns priorities and the big picture on our operations systems. An outside senior engineer : your mentor and reviewer. Weekly sessions for your first 90 days, then regular check ins. Reviews your work on critical systems and teaches you how to make bigger technical calls.
The owners:
direct access, fast decisions, no committees.
An outside security firm:
audits our systems on a regular schedule. Sales, production, and warehouse teams: your users. They will tell you when something is wrong. Listen to them.
Desired Qualifications & Traits AI Fluent, Not AI Dependent:
builds with Claude (or similar) every day and knows its failure modes cold. Can tell when the model is confidently wrong.
Analytical:
validates assumptions with data, not vibes. Comfortable telling the owners the numbers say otherwise.
Process Brain:
can walk into a messy workflow, ask the right questions, and walk out with a clear map and an SOP people actually follow.
Systems Thinker:
sees how a change to the sales form shows up on the production floor three steps later.
Builder:
would rather ship a working v1 on Tuesday than a perfect diagram next month.
Translator:
explains technical things to non technical people in plain English, without making anyone feel dumb.
Coachable:
takes a hard code review well, asks good questions, and comes back better. Experience & Requirements Must Have Proof you can do the work: projects, analyses, tools, or systems you built and shipped. We care about this far more than your resume. Strong SQL, plus working Python or TypeScript/JavaScript.
Data analysis experience:
cleaning messy data and turning it into a clear answer. Daily, hands on use of AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to build real things. You know why orders and line items live in separate tables. Able to work onsite in Sparks, Nevada. Nice to Have Process mapping (swimlanes, BPMN) and writing SOPs or documentation. BI tools and dashboard design. Understands database architecture and is comfortable using that structure to serve production deployments. Building LLM agents or retrieval (RAG) systems. QuickBooks data, Monday.com, or manufacturing and wholesale operations. Education A degree is welcome, and not required. Self taught, bootcamp, career changer from ops or finance: all welcome if you can show us the work. The Fine Print What You Won't Get A big engineering team. It's you, our systems lead, a senior mentor, and a lot of AI. A product manager writing your tickets. You will talk to the people who need the thing. Clean data. You will meet our QuickBooks exports. You will have opinions. A remote job. We move fast, and fast happens in the same room. Boredom. What You Will Get Real ownership of systems a whole company runs on, early in your career. Weekly mentorship from an experienced senior engineer. That's rare. Use it. $70,000 starting salary, with pay reviews at 90 days and six months tied to the success milestones above, plus health, vision, and dental insurance options.
Nevada:
no state income tax, and Lake Tahoe less than an hour away.
Bragging rights:
the systems you build put stickers in national park gift shops. How to Apply We read every application that follows these instructions, and none that don't. Send the following to hr@stickerpack.com : Your resume. (Short is fine.) A link to something you built or analyzed: a repo, a git-hub project, a live app, a dashboard, a write up. In a few sentences, tell us what you did and what the AI did. Short answers to these three questions: Tell us about a time an AI tool gave you confidently wrong code or analysis. How did you catch it? Describe a messy process you turned into a system. What was broken, and what did you build? Tell us about a time the data said something nobody expected. What did you find, and what happened next? Don't click the apply button. Follow the directions. Write those answers yourself. Use AI for everything else in this job, just not this part. We can tell. What to Expect A 30 minute intro call. Then a live session with our senior engineer: you work through a real build and a real data question, using your usual AI tools, while we watch how you think. Then a visit to meet the team and see the floor. Fast process, fast answer.
