Job Description

JOB SUMMARY AND DUTIES

The College offers students 69 Degree Program Options and 35 Credit Certificates from which to choose Assists MCCC library computer lab users by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies. Also, answers queries received via email, telephone, or fax. Questions user to collect information about the particular assistance need then determines the best way to assist the user without providing tutoring. Determines whether problem is caused by hardware or software. Handles and seeks resolution for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or Information Technology services staff. Assists students in using the computer lab's printing system. Makes sure that each lab user is properly signed in and has proper ID to enter and use the lab. Files lab incident reports. Reports software and hardware operational problems to library and Information Technology services staff. Please note that assigned tasks and responsibilities span both campuses for all MCCC positions. The hours of this position are 12pm to 5pm, Monday through Friday during the academic year with Fridays off in the summer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience using Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint; and in using search engines to access Internet information.
