Job Description

Overview The Corporate Finance Intern will assist in various corporate financial and IT-related tasks including financial reporting and analysis, planning, forecasting, and IT financial management. The intern will gain exposure to financial reporting, IT cost management, and the financial impacts of IT investments within the organization. This role involves working closely with the Corporate Finance team, providing valuable insights and supporting the decision-making process.
Responsibilities What you will do:
Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports and forecasts. Prepare presentations and reports for senior management and finance committees. Perform data analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings. Support the planning process by gathering data, creating reports and presentations, and analyzing variances, including use of the Workday Adaptive Planning and Apptio tools. Assist with rating agencies' meeting materials by conducting peer company research, benchmarking, ad-hoc analysis, and preparing supporting documentation and presentations. Collaborate with the IT department to track and manage IT expenses and investments. Participate in financial reviews and audits related to IT projects and expenditures. Assist with cost-benefit analysis for IT projects to support strategic decision-making. Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures. Support special projects as assigned by management. Comply with all company policies and standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Required Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles.
  • Required Familiarity with IT financial management concepts.
  • Preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Required Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Required Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Required Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Required Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Required Work Setting/Position Demands:
Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings. Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis. Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned. Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis. Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work. Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
