Project Resource Analyst Job Description The Project Resource Analyst supports engineering and project management teams in planning, sequencing, and delivering substation, transmission, and distribution projects safely, reliably, and cost-effectively. This role focuses on coordinating major material and equipment procurement, tracking project budgets and costs, and ensuring accurate project setup and closure within SAP and related systems. Responsibilities Support engineering groups, project planning, and the project management office in ordering major materials and equipment required for substation, transmission, and distribution projects. Coordinate closely with the supply chain team to initiate and manage material and equipment purchase orders as needed for individual projects. Track all material and equipment orders from the time of purchase through delivery, ensuring purchase orders are set up correctly and vendors receive all required documentation and information. Monitor the receipt of materials and equipment for each project and track corresponding payments to vendors to ensure timely and accurate processing. Perform monthly tracking of services and goods received but not yet invoiced or paid by vendors, maintaining clear records by project for accruals and financial reporting. Support engineering groups, project planning, and the project management office in setting up new projects in SAP, ensuring all relevant data and structures are configured correctly. Ensure project budgets are established, funded, and maintained accurately in SAP, aligning with project plans and financial requirements. Transfer costs between projects in SAP as needed to reflect accurate allocation of expenses and to correct misposted charges. Complete all required steps in SAP and PowerPlan at project completion to ensure budgets are reconciled, assets are properly accounted for, and financial records are accurate and complete. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide timely project tracking information, including status of materials, budgets, and accruals. Maintain clear documentation and records for project tracking, budget tracking, and material tracking activities to support audits and internal reviews. Essential Skills Proficiency in multiple functions within SAP, including project setup, budgeting, cost transfers, and tracking. 3-5 years of experience in project tracking, including monitoring schedules, milestones, and deliverables. 3-5 years of experience in materials tracking, including ordering, receipt confirmation, and inventory coordination. 3-5 years of experience with submittals and documentation workflows related to project materials and equipment. 3-5 years of experience tracking monthly accruals, including services and goods received but not yet invoiced or paid. 3-5 years of experience in project budgeting, including establishing, monitoring, and reconciling project budgets. Strong skills in budget tracking and financial analysis related to projects. Experience in accounting or business analysis functions related to project financials. Ability to work effectively with engineering, project planning, project management, and supply chain teams. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tracking orders, budgets, and costs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. Experience with PowerPlan is a plus, particularly in relation to asset accounting and project financials. Experience in the utility industry is preferred, especially involving substation, transmission, or distribution projects. Experience in the construction industry is preferred, with exposure to material procurement and project cost control. Strong project planning skills and familiarity with project management processes. Ability to interpret and work with financial data, purchase orders, and project documentation. Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Organizational skills to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and tracking activities simultaneously. Work Environment This role operates in an in-person office environment based in Dayton, OH. The schedule typically follows regular business hours, Monday through Friday. The position involves frequent use of SAP and PowerPlan, as well as other business and project tracking tools, in a professional office setting. The work focuses on collaboration with engineering, project planning, project management, and supply chain teams, with regular interaction across departments to support project execution and financial accuracy. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
