General Description:
In alignment with NWRESD's mission statement, this six-week summer position supports district operations while providing hands-on experience in one of the following departments: education, communications, and technology. This role is designed to provide exposure to how an education service district functions and to help the intern develop professional skills in a real-world environment. While duties will vary by department, this intern is responsible for assisting senior employees with various tasks. Duties may include clerical tasks, as well as department-specific projects.

Essential functions:
Include the following. Performs some or all of the following tasks. Other Duties may be assigned. The duties listed below are not inclusive, but characteristic of the type and level of work assigned for this position.
COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT FUNCTIONS
a. Assist with the design and creation of visual content in the following areas: i. Blog posts ii. Social media iii. Videos b. Assist with and provide support to event planning, setup, and event management c. Provide support in the following areas: i. Social media ii. Writing and editing iii. Photos, videos, and graphics iv. Media relations d. Support Communications Department clerical duties, such as assisting with documentation, correspondence, phone calls, paper and electronic filing, and preparation for meetings. e. Bilingual and biliterate are preferred
EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FUNCTIONS
a. Assist in the creation of advertising materials, such as flyers and postcards, for School Performance and Workforce Development events and projects. b. Work with staff to create student-facing documents regarding student opportunities. c. Update contact lists for educational partners and industry partners. d. Assist in organizing and executing events and special projects e. Research and report on information and/or data for special projects f. Participate in various meetings for the purpose of receiving information or sharing information and expertise with students, colleagues, parents/guardians, and community partners g. Support Education Program clerical duties, such as assisting with documentation, correspondence, phone calls, paper and electronic filing, and preparation for meetings. h. Support staff and complete additional tasks for Dual Credit and Career Connected Learning. i. Create and organize college and career experiences for high school students j. Participate in industry and community outreach and events.
TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT FUNCTIONS
a. Assist with technology help desk calls, scheduling, and tickets.
b. Support the technology team with the maintenance of hardware, software, and other systems as needed.
c. Troubleshoot issues with equipment, i.e., printers and computers. 2
d. Run software updates and backups as requested.
e. Participate in the deployment of new desktops or applications.
f. Research technology solutions and pricing as required.
g. Research solutions to technical issues as required.
h. Set up video conferencing sessions and other items as needed to assist IT staff.
i. Interact with users and clients as needed.
