Position Summary Information Job Description Summary:
The Ellis Center seeks an analytically driven Graduate Assistant to support the operational and reporting work of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences during the 2026-2027 academic year. This position sits with the Academic Services and Policies team responsible for aiding the College's reporting infrastructure, internal platforms, and process automation for undergraduate student populations. Analytical work is done on datasets extracted from University systems, and the student may use the tools they work best in. Students with programming or development experience will find opportunities to apply it, and the position offers broad exposure to how a large academic college runs its operations. Reporting and Analysis Compile, clean, and analyze student and academic datasets extracted from University systems Build data summaries, visualizations, and statistical analyses supporting decision-making Assist with annual reporting cycles, including data validation and documentation of methodology Develop repeatable analysis approaches that can be reused across reporting cycles Process Improvement and Automation Identify manual and repetitive processes suitable for automation and help implement improvements Assist with building and testing electronic forms and approval workflows Contribute to documentation and user testing for internal tools and platforms Operations and Project Support Support review and verification of student records, including undergraduate graduation eligibility Assist with project planning, tracking, and documentation for operational initiatives Collaborate with Ellis Center staff on data-driven projects across the College Provide support for additional operational and academic services projects as needs arise
Requirements:
Currently enrolled Villanova graduate student in good standing Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including formulas, pivot tables, and working with large datasets Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with student records and institutional data Ability to manage concurrent tasks and meet deadlines
