Job Description
Maintains a high level of risk management and system knowledge related to the overall corporate technology environment. Stays abreast of new developments in the corporation's business and technology strategic and operating plans and works closely with department managers to identify, evaluate, and recommend manager-specific solutions that support those plans. Possesses a solid understanding of the corporation's direction and goals in order to effectuate appropriate change. Monitors all software parameter and configuration changes completed by the business units and IT on a daily basis. Coordinates software releases with Project Office personnel as necessary and works with Project Office and vendor(s) regarding any bank acquisitions/merger technology planning. Essential Job Responsibilities__________________________________ 1. Fosters an atmosphere of cooperation and communication with other departments, vendors, and within the Technology Group. 2. Develops and cultivates effective relationships with vendors. 3. Monitors day-to-day communications such as bulletins and release notes from the software vendor. 4. Monitors all software parameter and configuration changes on a daily basis. Ensures appropriate documentation relating to the changes is maintained by all parties with security to change system parameters. Contacts other business units regarding issues or questions concerning these changes. 5. Coordinates all software releases with Project Office personnel to ensure timely scheduling for releases to go into production. 6. Maintains a solid working knowledge of assigned systems and advises and assists the corporation's business and technology department managers in developing techniques and procedures to fully implement all facets of the corporation's technology. 7. Possesses a high-level overview of the job functions of the various positions in the corporation in order to facilitate effective communication with all users. 8. Acts as a contact for business units within the bank. Handles reports of errors in parameters and/or configuration changes so that resolutions occur quickly. 9. Works with vendor and bank management on evaluating, testing, and installing system changes and releases and advises affiliates of forms. 10. Ensures that only approved system changes are made and that records are retained per established guidelines. 11. Keeps up-to-date on skills necessary to make the best decisions pertaining to training and project development, including cross training, to ensure backup on all banking systems. 12. Enforces completion of assigned tasks based on the assignments, timelines, and specifications established for all software releases and updates. 13. Works with Project Office and business units to complete tasks and assignments as they relate to bank acquisitions or mergers. Develops an understanding of the process involving the software provider as it relates to acquisitions and mergers. 14. Coordinates procedure reviews as it pertains to the monitoring of parameters and configuration changes. 15. Participates in software user groups to stay informed of developments and attends committee meetings as a representative of the Business Analysis Services Department, as required. 16. Assists in analyzing new software packages and client needs to provide data processing solutions. Reviews and recommends updates and new releases of software products, including banking systems as well as programming and support tools. 17. Maintains and coordinates audits within assigned areas; ensures timely audit responses as they pertain to parameter and configuration changes. 18. Assesses and responds appropriately to unexpected software or design errors and knows the appropriate personnel to contact to ensure the timely resolutions of these issues. 19. Work with lines of business and business units to ensure appropriate controls are in place to maintain the accuracy of system information. 20. Work with lines of business and the Compliance Department to ensure regulatory changes are in place in a timely manner to meet the requirements in the regulations. Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications___________________________ 1. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. 2. A minimum of ten (10) years related experience in quality control, project and/or application support is required. 3. In depth technical knowledge of the assigned systems and how the technical functions relate to processing is necessary. 4. Proficient reading, writing, and grammatical skills are critical, as are analytical and mathematical skills. Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal relations skills are also required. 5. Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel when necessary. 6. May be eligible for Telecommuting.
