Position:
Senior Configuration Management Specialist V (Part Time)
Nature of Role:
MIKEL is seeking a part time senior-level professional to provide Configuration Management (CM) and logistics support to Surface Ship Undersea Warfare (SSUSW) In-Service Support (ISS) programs. This role focuses on supporting Fleet needs in real-time and providing expert product configuration management guidance to NUWC personnel.
Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to: Identify, track, and manage complex hardware inventories for decommissioned systems in consultation with Program Office directives. Provide expert engineering change management and product configuration management guidance to NUWC personnel. Coordinate across various Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO-IWS) offices to maintain critical program relationships. Utilize Navy maintenance and documentation processes to maintain strict configuration control and update parts inventories. Identify and ship parts as needed to support real-time Fleet requests and mission requirements. Draft technical documentation and reports to communicate configuration status to Department of Defense stakeholders.
Requirements:
Must have an active Department of Defense SECRET Security Clearance at the time of hire. Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required. Comprehensive knowledge of
AN/SQQ-89
(hardware) Antisubmarine Warfare system suites, including Legacy and ACB systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting and team collaboration. Strong MS Office skills for data tracking and inventory management. Ability to work on-site at the
Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport Experience:
Minimum of 20 years of logistics functions and configuration management in support of U.S. Navy programs. Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and extensive military technical experience.
Work Location:
Middletown, RI. This is an on-site position with minimal available (no more than 10%).
