$60-65/hr Introduction Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst - Data Products to serve as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery. This role will gather and analyze requirements, define data and workflow needs, and translate them into actionable requirements for engineering teams. The analyst will partner with business stakeholders, data teams, and project leadership to ensure data products are aligned with user and client objectives. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Lead discovery sessions with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, data owners, and end users to understand business challenges and desired outcomes. Analyze and document existing and future-state processes, data sources, business rules, system dependencies, and access requirements. Convert business needs into detailed epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, and data requirements. Maintain a well-defined backlog and ensure requirements remain aligned and traceable throughout delivery. Partner closely with engineers to clarify requirements, refine stories, resolve questions, and validate completed functionality. Support product demonstrations, user testing, and acceptance activities while documenting decisions and incorporating feedback into requirements. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or similar role. Experience supporting data, analytics, software development, or technology delivery teams. Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write and understand queries. Proven ability to gather requirements, document workflows, develop user stories, and establish clear acceptance criteria. Ability to take complex or loosely defined information and turn it into clear, actionable requirements. Understanding of data concepts including data sources, transformations, data models, quality, security, and analytics. Experience working in Agile environments and with tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams. Comfortable challenging unclear requirements and asking the right questions to uncover business needs. Highly self-sufficient and naturally curious, with the ability to independently research unfamiliar technologies, data sets, and business areas. Preferred Skills & Qualifications Experience working directly on data product development or data transformation initiatives. Experience collaborating closely with data engineers, analytics engineers, and other technical teams.
