$60/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match Overview IT Generation organization is seeking a Senior Software & Build Engineer who combines expertise in Systems Analysis, Application Support, Agile Delivery, CI/CD Automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, product teams, developers, operations, and vendors to ensure enterprise applications are designed, delivered, supported, and continuously improved through modern engineering practices. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and business-facing skills while also providing technical leadership for DevOps, CI/CD pipeline architecture, cloud technologies, automation, infrastructure provisioning, and application lifecycle management. Key Responsibilities Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to analyze business needs, define requirements, and deliver scalable technology solutions that support organizational objectives. Lead business and systems analysis activities, including requirements gathering, process improvement, solution design, impact assessments, and documentation of functional and technical specifications. Provide subject matter expertise and support for enterprise applications by managing production issues, troubleshooting complex system problems, coordinating releases and upgrades, and driving continuous operational improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure application reliability, performance, and successful solution delivery. Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) within Agile environments, supporting backlog management, user story development, sprint planning, release planning, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with Product Owners, Developers, QA teams, and Architects. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud-based solutions using modern DevOps practices. Automate build, testing, deployment, provisioning, and configuration management processes while improving delivery efficiency, reliability, and scalability across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments. Implement DevSecOps, governance, and observability practices by integrating security controls, compliance requirements, monitoring, logging, performance metrics, and automated quality controls into delivery pipelines and operational processes. Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture artifacts, operational procedures, and training materials. Communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, provide knowledge transfer and mentorship, and promote best practices, standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across the organization. Required Skills Strong experience gathering, documenting, validating, and managing business and technical requirements. Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum ceremonies. Experience creating and managing user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, and process documentation. Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, or related CI/CD platforms. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible. Experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments. Experience with SQL, Oracle databases, and data analysis. Understanding system integrations, APIs, web services, and data interfaces. Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, Bash, YAML, or similar technologies. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience working across cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities. Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams. Nice to Have Skills Experience supporting commodity risk, energy trading, finance, utility, operational technology, or regulated industry applications. Experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitOps, Helm, or cloud-native technologies. Experience with observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Azure Monitor, or CloudWatch. Experience with DevSecOps tools, vulnerability management, and security automation. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional. Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert. HashiCorp Terraform Certification. Red Hat Ansible Certification.
