Active Secret Clearance Position is contingent upon contract award. Position Overview The DCS Planner IMD supports NSWG-8 Intermediate Maintenance Detachment (IMD) in Little Creek, Virginia by providing technical planning expertise for Dry Combat Submersible (DCS) maintenance activities. This role supports the research, planning, and development of maintenance work packages; helps ensure maintenance performed within applicable certification boundaries meets technical and quality requirements; identifies material and testing needs; supports technical documentation and records management; and provides planning support to sustain DCS mission readiness and maintenance execution. The IMD manpower table identifies one DCS Planner billet at Little Creek. Key Responsibilities Provide technical expertise for planning work packages in support of DCS maintenance . Support the research, planning, and development of Controlled Work Packages (CWPs) and Formal Work Packages/Procedures (FWPs) for maintenance performed within applicable certification boundaries. Determine the technical and material requirements needed to conduct DCS maintenance. Perform configuration and ship checks to establish the scope of work to be performed. Research and identify quality assurance controls and requirements applicable to DCS maintenance. Interface with the Supply Department and RPPO for document numbers, stock numbers, material identification, non-stock sourcing, and allowable material substitutions. Conduct technical research using manuals, specifications, and related documentation to support DCS maintenance personnel. Assist in preparation of Liaison Action Requests (LARs) , Technical Manual Deficiency Evaluation Reports (TMDERs) , and Technical Feedback Reports (TFBRs) . Provide technical support and information to contractors, as required. Assist with planned and corrective maintenance requirement requests and development of CWPs/FWPs for DCS and associated ancillary equipment. Help ensure work packages include technical documentation, testing requirements, Objective Quality Evidence (OQE), and required QA documentation. Assist in establishing and maintaining an electronic indexing and filing system for generated and completed CWPs/FWPs. Support training of Navy personnel in planning, technical research, and technical documentation preparation. Participate in weekly meetings and provide status updates on product development and package approval. Operate Government vehicles as required to carry out assigned duties. Minimum Requirements to be considered Minimum of 6 years of experience with U.S. Navy submarines or submersible platforms . Minimum of 6 years of experience with submarine mechanical and electrical systems or components . Minimum of 6 years of experience with developing and writing Controlled Work Procedures (CWPs), Requisitions (RECs), and Formal Work Procedures (FWPs) . Minimum of 6 years of experience with U.S. Navy submarines QA Program and 2+ years of experience with
NAVSEA 9290
requirements . High School Diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of related experience , or BA/BS plus 2 years of related experience . Active Secret Clearance required . Prior military experience preferred .
