Job Description To function as a skilled specialist for analysis, design, implementation and support of technology resources within the healthcare work environment. To utilize knowledge and experience for intuitive issue resolution and innovation in technology deployment. To respond to problems and concerns with a mature understanding of clinical scenarios and available technology. To be an innovative, flexible and confident resource performing various duties in the system life cycle to achieve successful implementation of healthcare technologies. Key Duties & Responsibilities 1. Analyzes technologies and workflows to determine business needs as well as usability issues impeding operational efficiency. 2. Leads projects and acts as a change agent to achieve successful completion. 3. Collaboratively works with complex groups to enhance or implement healthcare technologies. 4. Demonstrates expert level of understanding of system functionality. 5. Develops technology related materials such as test scripts, system documentation and procedures. Identifies appropriate medium for specific applications or projects. 6. Continuous learner who motivates others to increase knowledge of clinical and business practice, information systems best practices as well as current technologies and capabilities. 7. Performs root cause analysis on identified issues and recommends remediation. 8. Demonstrates knowledge of and supports hospital mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, confidentiality standards and ethical behavior. 9. Provides system support for customers through routine rounding and implementation support as needed exhibiting excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. 10. Performs a variety of duties with direction as needed, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, without loss of efficiency or composure. 11. Possesses global vision and perspective in all areas of decision-making. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field and six (6) years of experience in direct patient care and six (6) years electronic medical record experience. One (1) year work experience with UAB preferred. Cerner applications experience preferred. Master's degree preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed in the area of clinical specialty by the State of Alabama.
