Job Description

The IT Accounting Analyst plays a pivotal role in assisting with accounting and reporting for IT operating costs, ensuring expenses are accurately recorded, monitored, and aligned with budget expectations. This role focuses on IT operating activities such as software subscriptions, maintenance contracts, telecom, cloud services and support costs while supporting month-end close and financial reporting. The IT Accounting Analyst will also support audit requests and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes. Key Responsibilities Work closely with department leadership to execute the strategic vision for IT Accounting, aligning with broader organizational goals. Track and manage ITS operating expenses (run-the-business costs). Support overall month-end close process for ITS. Prepare, and review for accuracy, journal entries related to IT operating expenses. Ensure accurate accruals are recorded for unpaid IT invoices and services. Review paid invoices and ensure proper coding to cost centers and GL accounts. Monitor recurring expenses such as software subscriptions and licenses, maintenance and support contracts, telecom and network services, cloud hosting and infrastructure costs Monitor recurring expenses such as: Prepare monthly management reports and variance analysis to budget and prior year. Support annual audit processes and provide required documentation in a timely manner. Collaborate with IT operations and the IT Finance team to improve and enhance efficiency of expense tracking processes. Act as a strategic partner to IT operational teams, providing guidance on expense coding and budget usage. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in accounting and financial reporting. Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently. Experience completing month-end close processes and preparing journal entries. Experience with a general ledger accounting system (NetSuite preferred). Experience with reporting tools (Oracle EPM, Essbase and/or Power BI a preferred). Professional-level experience with Microsoft Excel including visual presentation capabilities; advanced Excel ability preferred. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with senior leaders. Ability to interpret financial data and present findings clearly. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs. Effective team player with strong initiative and work ethic.
