When seconds matter, firefighters, police, and EMS technicians rely on hardened radio operating on an always available network to connect them to mission critical intelligence and assistance. Our team is responsible for the radio console products and APIs that bridge audio to dispatch centers, real-time operation centers, AI agents, and beyond. Job Description We are looking for an execution-focused and highly collaborative Product Manager to join our Command Center Voice Software team. In this role, you will partner closely with your peers to bring a new set of AI-enabled offers to market and drive the modernization of our core radio console products. You will act as the engine of the product development process. You will be responsible for translating high-level strategy into actionable requirements, working directly with world-class engineering and design teams, and ensuring flawless execution from ideation to launch. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder who loves solving complex workflow problems, prototyping new ideas, and obsessing over the details.
What You'll Do Drive Execution:
Translate strategic product goals into detailed user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria. Manage the
Backlog:
Own the day-to-day prioritization of the engineering and design backlog, making smart trade-offs to ensure on-time delivery without compromising quality.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
Work closely with UX design to champion tightly collaborative workflows and with engineering to resolve technical bottlenecks.
Prototype & Test:
Actively prototype and test ideas (using tools like Claude & Cursor) to validate assumptions before writing a single line of production code.
Customer Empathy & Research:
Participate in customer interviews, usability testing, and user research to build deep empathy for first responders and dispatchers.
Data-Driven Decisions:
Monitor product analytics, track KPIs, and analyze user feedback to uncover insights that inform future iterations.
Support Go-To-Market:
Assist in the creation of sales enablement materials, documentation, and training to ensure successful product rollouts and adoption. Write for
Humans and AI:
Draft meticulous user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed feature specifications. You will document daily product decisions and edge cases, ensuring our internal AI copilots and engineering teams have a highly accurate, written "source of truth" to work from.
Qualifications:
What We're Looking For Hands-on builder mentality with a strong bias for action. You aren't afraid to get into the weeds of API documentation, technical integrations, or wireframing. Strong technical fluency; you can communicate effectively with engineers and understand the basics of modern software architecture. Familiarity with or a strong desire to learn about AI-driven products and how to integrate them into traditional workflows. Ability to translate complex workflows into highly structured, clearly written requirements Exceptional organizational skills and a highly structured approach to managing projects. Willingness to travel (up to ~30%) for customer engagement, user research, and team collaboration. U.S.-based, with authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Target Base Salary Range:
$80,000 - $95,000 USD Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
