Job Description We are looking for a Senior Consultant - Security Specialist to evaluate, design, recommend, and implement information system and security-related changes in support of government and judicial operations. This position will be a contract role and is hybrid in Trenton, NJ, supporting municipal, county, and statewide security initiatives. What You'll Do- Evaluate existing systems and user needs to analyze, design, recommend, and implement information system and security solutions
- Consult with stakeholders to define business needs, conduct research, perform studies, and analyze data to recommend effective solutions
- Define system and application architecture and provide long-term vision, problem anticipation, and problem resolution strategies
- Assist with reading and reviewing security-related drawings for municipal and county facilities
- Support the management and installation of security tools and systems
- Participate in and support the revamp of annual security audits
- Evaluate and revise business processes to align with security and operational requirements
- Lead and direct the work of others, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress
- Identify, track, and manage project issues, risks, and action items using project management tools
- Develop accurate time estimates and schedules, resolving issues in a timely manner
- Assist with statewide risk assessments and implementation of security measures for judges and court employees in coordination with external partners
- Develop contingency plans and support security incident preparedness efforts
- Deliver high-level executive briefings and reports to leadership
- Mentor, coach, and provide knowledge transfer to peers
- Execute responsibilities with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
What You'll Need Required:
- 8-11 years of relevant work experience
- 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study, or an advanced degree
- 8+ years of experience using various software applications
- 5+ years of experience testing applications
- 8+ years of experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- 8+ years of experience with Microsoft applications
- Strong understanding of government business processes and operations
- Ability to translate business processes into business and technical requirements
- Project management experience, including issue, risk, and schedule tracking
- Ability to work effectively with IT teams and functional business areas
Preferred:
- Experience submitting and managing change requests (2+ years)
- Experience supporting security tools, physical security systems, or facilities-based security initiatives
- Experience providing executive-level communications and briefings
- Prior experience leading teams or directing the work of others Physical Demands
