Job Description

A professional services organization in New Jersey is seeking an Applications Lead in Bergen County to provide hands-on technical leadership for a data analytics support environment. This role focuses on complex incident resolution, data-intensive troubleshooting, and performance optimization across Azure-based production platforms. About the

Responsibilities:
Serve as the escalation point for complex application and data platform support issues. Troubleshoot production incidents involving large datasets, data transformations, and performance bottlenecks. Partner with engineering and product teams to drive root cause analysis and durable fixes. Guide support analysts on technical resolution approaches and best practices. Support end-to-end troubleshooting across data pipelines, reporting flows, and Azure-based analytics environments.
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in application support, technical lead, or data platform troubleshooting roles Hands-on experience with Azure data engineering and Python Strong experience with Databricks and PySpark Strong T-SQL and data warehouse background, including SQL development and performance tuning Experience troubleshooting ETL pipelines and data flows end-to-end Experience working with large-scale data sets and diagnosing performance issues Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desired Skills:
Experience with Azure Data Factory Familiarity with ADLS file formats such as Parquet, Delta, CSV, and Excel Exposure to Power BI workspace concepts Experience with Alteryx Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, lookups, and VBA macros Familiarity with SAP or Oracle ERP technical environments Basic ABAP or UNIX familiarity
