Job Description

About Contrail Aviation Support Contrail Aviation Support is a global leader in the aviation aftermarket, specializing in the trading, leasing, and management of aircraft engines, modules, and parts. We support airlines, MROs, lessors, and operators worldwide through technical expertise, disciplined analytics, and a strong commitment to quality and transparency. Contrail offers employees the opportunity to make a direct impact while working on complex technical challenges. We provide flexible time off, competitive compensation and benefits, and the ability to shape and grow your role over time based on your interests and performance. Position Overview The Technical Records Analyst is a mid-level position for a candidate with hands-on turbine engine records experience who is ready to take ownership of records review work with less day-to-day oversight. You will work both independently and with the Technical team reviewing and validating engine records in support of acquisition, leasing, sale, exchange, and teardown decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the judgment to identify and resolve records discrepancies independently. Some exposure to engine leasing or trading transactions is a must as the role includes regular contact with operators, lessors, and OEMs on active deals. This role carries real ownership and visibility from day one, with room to grow toward more specialized technical analysis, deal leadership, or client-facing work as the team expands. Key Responsibilities Review and validate engine records for purchase, lease, sale, exchange, and teardown transactions, including documentation related to operation and maintenance history. Research and verify compliance of airworthiness directives (ADs) and service bulletins (SBs) against engine and component records. Maintain and analyze technical records, shop visit reports, maintenance history, and life-limited part (LLP) tracking. Contact operators, lessors, and OEMs directly to request missing documentation or resolve records discrepancies. Support the Asset Acquisition team with technical evaluations and modeling of engines (e.g., CFM56, V2500, CF6, PW4000, and similar platforms) under consideration for lease, sale, or teardown. Communicate with customers and operators as needed on acquisition, lease, and sales projects. Contribute to internal valuation, financial modeling, and reporting using Excel and internal tools. Build and share knowledge of engine leasing structures, lease-return conditions, and aftermarket trends across the team. Required Qualifications Experience of 2-5 years reviewing or managing turbine engine technical records (aviation MRO, airline, lessor, OEM, or aftermarket environment) including researching airworthiness directive and service bulletin compliance. Experience with engine platforms CFM56, V2500, CF6, and/or PW4000 preferred. Exposure to engine leasing, trading, or exchange transactions. Prior communication with OEM's, operators, or lessors. Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking — accuracy is critical in this role. Ability to manage time and tasks independently with strong organizational skills. Clear written and verbal communication skills, including comfort communicating directly with operators and OEMs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Teams and Excel. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Flexible time off policy. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k) retirement plan. Professional development opportunities and industry conference attendance. Contrail values flexibility and work-life balance. We are open to a U.S. based remote work arrangement for the right applicant. Occasional travel to the Verona, WI office for meetings or training is required. How to Apply To apply, please submit: Current resume. Cover letter describing your experience with engine records and your interest in this role. Any relevant work samples or portfolio materials (optional). We review applications on a rolling basis and aim to respond to all candidates within two weeks.
