IT Consultant

We are a growing engineering consulting firm seeking a skilled and motivated IT Consultant to support both our internal teams and external clients. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working in a fast-paced environment, and partnering with engineers and business leaders to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions. Position Summary The IT Consultant will play a dual role—supporting internal IT operations while also delivering consulting services to external clients. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, customer service, and project management skills to ensure successful outcomes across multiple environments. Key Responsibilities Internal IT Support Maintain and support company IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and end-user systems Provide helpdesk support and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access Ensure data security, backups, and disaster recovery processes are in place Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and performance Support engineering software platforms and collaboration tools Client Consulting Services Assess client IT environments and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions Design and implement network, cloud, and system improvements Provide on-site or remote technical support to clients as needed Develop documentation, reports, and system diagrams Manage multiple client projects, timelines, and deliverables Build strong relationships through responsive and professional service Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) Strong knowledge of: Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs) Windows environments and Microsoft 365 Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar) Experience with cybersecurity best practices Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Preferred Experience working in an engineering, architecture, or consulting environment 4+ years of IT support, systems administration, or consulting experience Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, etc.) Familiarity with CAD or engineering software environments Experience with virtualization technologies Project management experience or Agile exposure Local Candidates within 1 hour of Kalamazoo Work Environment Hybrid work environment (office, remote, and client sites) Occasional travel to client locations may be required Collaborative, team-oriented culture supporting innovation and growth How to Apply Submit your resume to Careers@Unifiedeng.com
