Job Description
Citi is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who will build and execute automated test solutions that directly protect the quality of financial technology products used by clients and teams across the business. In this role, you will design and run test strategies spanning automation, API, performance, and user acceptance testing — working at the intersection of engineering and quality assurance within Citi's IT Quality function. Your work will have a direct impact on the reliability and delivery speed of software released into production. Responsibilities Build and execute automation scripts using Selenium and Cypress to expand integration, regression, and UI test coverage across financial technology applications. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster feedback loops throughout the software delivery lifecycle. Develop API test suites using Postman or SoapUI to validate microservices and verify payload accuracy across system interactions. Design and run performance and load test scenarios in JMeter to detect system bottlenecks before they reach production. Write complex SQL queries to verify data extraction accuracy and confirm metadata is stored correctly in relational databases. Review automation scripts written by team members to maintain code quality, readability, and adherence to coding standards. Compile and track quality metrics across testing cycles, document findings, and carry out root cause analysis to surface actionable improvements. Collaborate with technology project managers and user acceptance testing teams to design and implement test scripts and plans that support product rollout into production. Required qualifications & skills 2 to 5 years of quality assurance experience in the financial services industry, with hands-on expertise in test automation using Selenium or Cypress, API testing using Postman or SoapUI, performance testing using JMeter, SQL, and JIRA . In-depth understanding of integration testing, including the ability to create and execute test scripts and track results end to end. Solid understanding of quality assurance methodologies and how QA fits within the software development lifecycle. Demonstrated ability to review requirements, identify discrepancies, and communicate findings clearly in written and verbal form. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail and the ability to meet firm deadlines. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Beneficial skills & qualifications Hands-on experience testing AI or machine learning model outputs, including evaluating the accuracy of optical character recognition or intelligent character recognition extraction results. Familiarity with validating confidence score thresholds in model-driven workflows. What we offer At Citi, you will work within a performance-driven team where your testing work has a measurable impact on the quality of technology that reaches clients and users globally. This is a mid-level role that offers real autonomy, cross-team collaboration, and the opportunity to grow your technical expertise in a complex, fast-paced financial services environment. A hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, giving you flexibility while staying connected to your team. Access to learning and development resources that help you grow your skills in test automation, quality engineering, and financial technology. Exposure to complex, large-scale technology systems where your quality assurance work directly influences production outcomes. Collaboration with technology project managers, engineers, and testing professionals across a global organization. Wellbeing support and work-life balance initiatives designed to help you perform at your best. Competitive financial benefits and compensation aligned to your skills and contribution. Apply today to bring your quality engineering skills to Citi and help shape the reliability of financial technology that matters.
