United States Suitability/Public Trust Fully remote Information Technology
  • Overview
  • GovCIO is looking for a Technical Systems Analyst to support the operational performance and reliability of the Veterans Affairs Direct Upload (QuickSubmit) platform.
This role focuses on technical analysis, system performance monitoring, platform reliability, and proactive service optimization, rather than traditional help desk activities. The analyst operates with minimal oversight, uses technical judgment to evaluate system behavior, and partners with engineering and cybersecurity teams to enhance the platform's stability and user experience. This position is fully remote within the United States.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Monitor, assess, and report on the operational health and performance of the Direct Upload service.
+ Conduct independent root‑cause analysis on system issues and develop long‑term corrective strategies. + Create and maintain dashboards, alerts, and operational analytics that improve platform visibility and proactive detection of anomalies. + Serve as a subject matter expert on platform behavior and operational integrity. + Collaborate with engineering teams to refine workflows, enhance reliability, and optimize service performance. + Review system logs, metrics, and telemetry data to diagnose complex technical issues. + Support access governance by maintaining role‑based access models and aligning processes with security requirements. + Produce technical documentation, process improvements, and platform maturity recommendations. + Contribute to cross‑functional meetings, working groups, and improvement initiatives as a platform SME. + Operates with minimal oversight, uses technical judgment to evaluate system behavior + Create and maintain dashboards, alerts, and operational analytics that improve platform visibility and proactive detection of anomalies + Produce technical documentation, process improvements, and platform maturity recommendations + Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline support operations + Coordinate with cross-functional teams on issue trends, user feedback, and opportunities to optimize user experience as a platform SME + Support change management activities by reviewing release notes, validating functionality during updates, and reporting post-deployment issues + Monitor, assess, and report on the operational health and performance of the Direct Upload service
  • Qualifications
  • Required Skills and Experience:
  • + Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
+ 1-3+ years of experience in systems analysis, application support, IT operations, or platform monitoring. + Strong analytical skills, with experience using logs, system metrics, and monitoring tools. + Experience with ticketing or workflow tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy). + Excellent communication and technical writing skills. + Understanding of access control concepts, audit requirements, and security best practices + Familiarity with ITIL principles and service management frameworks
  • Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • + Experience supporting enterprise or federal systems. + Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps, or continuous improvement frameworks. + Exposure to monitoring/observability tools (Splunk, CloudWatch, Dynatrace). + Ability to communicate complex technical concepts across teams.

  • + Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust.

  • USD $45,000.00
