Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Integration Engineer (Consultant) , Level 5, to join the Configuration Management Health Assessment (CMHA) team located in North Charleston, SC. The 787 Airplane Level Integration Team (ALIT) is looking for for an experienced technical leader to grow the Configuration Management Health Assessment (CMHA) team in a highly visible role on the 787 Program. You will work closely with program leadership, Boeing partners, suppliers and FAA representatives to assess configuration management practices, identify gaps, and drive actionable improvements. This position is ideal for a lead engineer who thrives in cross-functional environments, communicates effectively with senior stakeholders, and brings strong project management discipline to complex engineering challenges. This position will require both domestic and international travel to 787 Partner locations. The Statement of Work (SOW) for this position may include: Leading configuration management oversight and support for the 787 Program. Planning and executing on-site technical assessments at Boeing design partners and suppliers. Preparing clear, actionable assessment results and follow-up tasking to strengthen technical information management. Coordinating resolution of configuration management issues across both technical and functional teams.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead CMHA assessments and guide the working team through planning, execution, and follow-up activities. Communicate assessment results clearly and professionally to senior program leadership and FAA stakeholders. Serve as a trusted technical leader across Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, and Digital Engineering. Define, document, and interpret product requirements related to certification, configuration, data management, and engineering processes. Develop and implement plans and processes that ensure compliance with technical, data, regulatory, and company requirements. Track, analyze, and report data to monitor adherence to configuration, regulatory, and contractual requirements. Support audits, reviews, and corrective actions to ensure robust configuration control. Travel domestically and internationally as needed, up to 25%. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement. 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Master's degree or advanced coursework in relevant engineering or systems engineering fields. 5 or more years' leading engineering teams. Strong project management skills. Engineering experience in configuration management, design, analysis, manufacturing engineering or a related role, with exposures to certification, data management and engineering processes. Background supporting commercial airplane production; 787 experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge or prior experience with
AS-9100, BAC
Specs, and Boeing product data management systems. Experience with Boeing QMS and proficiency with Boeing tools such as ENOVIA, Velocity, PSDS, DCCS, etc. Previous experience working directly with Boeing partners and suppliers. Excellent oral and written communication skills - including the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences. Proven leadership experience in both collaborative and high-pressure environments. Ability to work effectively with people diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Summary Pay Range:
