Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled IT Security Analyst to join our Cybersecurity team. This role is essential in safeguarding our critical infrastructure and patient data through proactive incident response, monitoring, and security controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about cybersecurity, eager to stay updated on industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the operational support of continuous network, system, and infrastructure monitoring to detect potential security threats. Support the Incident Response Framework by preparing, identifying, analyzing, containing, eradicating, and recovering from security incidents. Participate in the investigation of security indicators, validating and analyzing ambiguous or contradictory data to confirm threats. Collaborate with senior team members on containment and eradication strategies to eliminate threats effectively. Contribute to post-incident reviews, recommending improvements to enhance response capabilities and prevent recurrence. Prepare and deliver concise security reports and summaries for presentation to leadership. Utilize security tools for log reviews, device monitoring, forensic analysis, and audit data review. Maintain current knowledge of applicable cybersecurity laws, policies, regulations, and best practices, ensuring compliance and promoting security awareness. Document procedures related to security policies, standards, and incident response processes. Identify process improvements and customer satisfaction opportunities, supporting the department's goals through proactive initiatives. Stay informed on emerging trends and advancements in cybersecurity by attending professional development events and reading industry publications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in cybersecurity incident response, threat detection, and security monitoring. Familiarity with security tools (SIEM, log analysis, forensic tools) and methodologies. Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under supervision and collaboratively within a team. Professional certifications (such as CompTIA Security+, GIAC, CISSP) are a plus.
