This role requires a high level of proficiency in all technical aspects of outside plant (OSP) facilities and associated work, including cable sizing, cable counts, and cable records management. The position works collaboratively with Network Planning, Central Office, Transmission, and Operations teams to support the growth, replacement, and upgrade of telecommunications plant facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities listed below represent a range of tasks performed by the employee and are not intended to reflect all responsibilities of the position. Work in an SLA-based environment to support outage response and break/fix activities. Serve as the frontline project manager for all construction activities associated with outside plant projects. Maintain a full understanding of all types of OSP construction. Maintain accurate cable records and ensure timely updates. Identify records discrepancies and take corrective action to support future projects and remediation efforts. Troubleshoot outages and high-loss issues using OTDR traces for fault analysis. Identify, diagnose, and locate suspected issues, and coordinate with construction and maintenance partners for remediation. Provide engineering design support and recommendations aligned with outside plant best practices. Conduct proactive reviews of outside plant facilities to determine necessary upgrades and enhancements. Communicate with state, county, city, and national entities to obtain information regarding planned projects involving growth and infrastructure changes. Coordinate and communicate with peers and departments to ensure effective project planning and execution. Support operations teams and regulatory entities as needed. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the NOC regarding fiber outages, migrations, training, and related activities. About You A minimum of five (5) years of experience in an outside plant (OSP) position. Experience in outside plant construction project management and inventory management. Experience with ROW, private easements, and permitting processes involving local, state, and federal entities. Demonstrated knowledge of outside plant design, cable count layouts, and network capacities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of outside plant (OSP) activities and engineering tools, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite and related applications. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, along with effective customer relations abilities, to achieve desired results. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering teams, regional managers, vendors, local supervisors, and technicians. Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of development while meeting critical deadlines.
