This project involves transitioning legacy ATOS Unify telephony systems to a centralized Cisco platform across multiple clinical and administrative locations. This is an 8-month contract position with the possibility of extension based on project needs, performance, and business requirements. This is a hands-on field deployment role focused on Cisco phone installations, analog gateway deployments, testing, troubleshooting, inventory management, and end-user support. This is not a network engineering or Cisco configuration position. The ideal candidate will have proven experience deploying Cisco VoIP phones, working with analog telephony infrastructure, and supporting users in fast-paced healthcare settings. Key Responsibilities Deploy approximately 600 Cisco phones across multiple healthcare locations, including Hospital, ACP, ASC, Technology Park, and Pre-Op Outpatient Testing areas. Conduct onsite surveys of workspaces and IDFs, review floor plans, and coordinate deployment activities with engineers and Unified Communications (UC) team members. Unbox, assemble, stage, install, activate, test, and document Cisco phone deployments. Replace and manage cabling as needed, ensuring installations are clean, organized, and compliant with site standards. Connect headsets and provide basic end-user support during phone deployments. Rack, install, and support Cisco analog gateway equipment, including rack-mounted and wallboard-mounted installations. Support approximately 56 IDFs and 1,600 analog lines and gateways across multiple locations. Test, identify, and troubleshoot analog lines supporting fax machines, panic alarms, and clinical monitoring devices. Assist with analog migration activities related to power-failure phone systems, including replacement, testing, documentation, and coordination with engineering teams. Return to completed deployment sites as needed to troubleshoot phones, gateways, and related telephony issues. Maintain accurate deployment documentation, testing records, issue logs, and project status updates. Manage onsite inventory of deployed and recovered phones, PBX equipment, and gateways. Perform manual Cisco phone firmware upgrades following established procedures. Attend project meetings, UC team meetings, and client meetings as required. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of hands-on technical field support experience with Cisco phones and related telephony hardware. Experience supporting Cisco VoIP deployments, phone activation, testing, and troubleshooting. Experience installing and supporting analog gateways or similar telephony infrastructure. Knowledge of legacy telecommunications wiring, including 66 blocks and 110 blocks. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to phone systems and analog line issues. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers, project managers, and client stakeholders. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users. Comfortable working in active healthcare and hospital environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in IDFs, telecom closets, and desk-side environments, including kneeling, squatting, and moving equipment with a handcart. Current immunizations meeting hospital requirements, with documentation available prior to start. Preferred Qualifications Previous healthcare or hospital deployment experience. Experience supporting large-scale telephony migration projects. Familiarity with Cisco Unified Communications environments. What You'll Be Doing This role is ideal for a field technician who enjoys hands-on deployment work, interacting with end users, and supporting large-scale technology initiatives. You'll play a critical role in modernizing communications infrastructure across a major healthcare organization while working alongside experienced UC engineers and project teams.
