Ribbon SBC Governance Specialist Charlotte, NC (Hybrid
  • 3 Days Onsite) $50
  • 58/hr W2 6+ Month Contract Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM EST Overview We are seeking an experienced Ribbon SBC Governance Specialist to support and oversee enterprise voice infrastructure, SIP-based communications services, and Session Border Controller (SBC) platforms within a large-scale enterprise environment.
This role combines hands-on engineering, operational support, and governance responsibilities to ensure the stability, security, compliance, and performance of mission-critical voice services. Key Responsibilities Provide engineering support for Ribbon
SBC 7000
Series, PSX, and RAMP platforms. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SBC environments, SIP services, and carrier connectivity. Analyze and resolve complex SIP signaling, RTP/RTCP, routing, and interoperability issues. Support integrations with Avaya, Cisco, Genesys , and other UC platforms. Participate in upgrades, deployments, hardware refreshes, and lifecycle management initiatives. Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans for voice service incidents. Support toll-free routing, voice access services, and telecommunications infrastructure. Maintain platform documentation, governance standards, inventories, and operational procedures. Support change management, risk assessments, audit activities, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with network, security, operations, and vendor teams to ensure platform reliability and governance. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise voice, VoIP, SBC, telecommunications, or carrier environments. Strong hands-on experience with Ribbon SBC technologies , including the Ribbon 7000 Series . Experience with PSX, RAMP, SIP, RTP, and RTCP . Proven ability to troubleshoot complex voice call flows and SIP signaling issues. Experience supporting carrier interconnects, voice services, and toll-free environments. Knowledge of Avaya, Cisco, Genesys, or similar unified communications platforms. Experience with change management and production support processes. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of experience supporting carrier, transport, SBC, and enterprise voice technologies. Experience in highly regulated environments such as financial services, healthcare, or telecommunications. Familiarity with ITIL processes, governance frameworks, and operational controls. Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Splunk, SolarWinds, or similar tools. Understanding of networking concepts including routing, firewalls, DNS, and load balancing. Bachelor's degree in IT, Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
