Description As an engineer in the Special Projects group, you will have an opportunity to be part of an innovation-focused organization within Apple that is building UI and visual tooling for model evaluation, testing, and validation. These systems serve the integrations between robotics, generative AI, and data analysis. You will be able to work on highly ambitious, high-reward, and impactful projects in the early stages of development. This team has a strong focus on building useful tooling and shipping innovative user experiences for our cross-functional partners. We value team members who can quickly prototype, iterating all the way to high-quality implementations. Moreover, we value team members who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the organization. Responsibilities As a member of this team, you will use your background to build any subset of the following (but not be limited to): Build intuitive and delightful web UI using React.js. Develop reusable components and libraries for long-term scalability. Integrate RESTful APIs. Collaborate with designers to implement UI/UX wireframes and prototypes. Implement full-stack applications to help accelerate model evaluation, testing, and validation. Integration with various models to scale up and improve capabilities of systems that employ ML Minimum Qualifications React.js and/or other web development frameworks. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles. Strong and proven software development skills. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Passion for software system architecture, API design, and developer experience. Excellent team collaboration skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Python and backend development is a plus. Experience with relational DB is a plus. Experience with infra stack i.e. Kubernetes is a plus. Experience with model evaluation pipelines is a plus. Experience with robotics, embodied AI, or LLMs is a plus. Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
