What to Expect Consider beforesubmittingan application: This position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue throughfallterm (endingapproximately December 2026or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships.
Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.

Our year-round program places the best students in positions where they will grow technically, professionally, and personally through their experience working closely with their Manager, Mentor, and team. We provide an experience that allows the intern to experience life at Tesla by including them in projects that are critical to their team's success. The Commercial UI team develops interfaces that interact with, analyze, and optimize Tesla's global energy fleet, solving real-time challenges at scale. Our tools grant access to telemetry datasets, enabling live inspection and diagnosis of Tesla's consumer, commercial, and industrial products. Autobidder powers grid-scale battery installations, using AI and algorithms to reduce electricity costs in dynamic energy markets. Site Designer allows teams to configure industrial-scale energy projects and deploy those configurations seamlessly across global sites. Our Supercharger planning tool helps strategically expand the Tesla charging network and monitor the health of active sites. We prioritize intelligent UX + product design, scalable systems, and first principles thinking.

Design, develop, maintain, and operate distributed software systems that incorporate real-time and streaming data for the monitoring, aggregation, and control of millions of IoT devices
Characterize complex problems related to the scalability, reliability, performance, and security of production systems
Test the performance, scalability, and reliability of distributed software systems, including developing the services to support this testing
Foster collaboration, improve developer productivity, and drive initiatives to completion
Maintain the values of the team which include engineering excellence, curiosity, a bias for action, self-awareness, inclusivity, and vulnerability What You'll Bring
Currently pursuing a Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
Fluency in full stack web languages and tools. JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and React preferred. Graphql is a plus

Expected Compensation
$20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
