Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in product design or UX. Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience building immersive products, or proven track record of building consumer product experiences across complex projects. Understanding of the needs and critical journeys for users on XR platforms. Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and partners at all levels. Ability to translate complex requirements into a clear and compelling product goal. Skilled and flexible when operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving and collaborative environment. From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products. As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products. YouTube XR defines the future of immersive entertainment and helps users discover and connect to content and creators they love on XR platforms. We are positioned to deliver a one-of-a-kind media experience combining the most compelling video content in immersive environments. YouTube is currently available to owners of multiple companies. We are also shaping the future of YouTube experiences on forthcoming glasses hardware. As UX Design Lead for YouTube XR, you will be fully responsible for creating scalable and beautiful design systems across YouTube XR platforms. This includes areas like Video-on-Demand, Shorts, 360° and other immersive content. You will be the go-to UX design voice for all things YouTube XR, working closely with Engineering and PM XR leadership. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities Develop patterns and frameworks that can be leveraged across YouTube XR platforms, appropriate to both YouTube's design system and native XR platforms. Establish UX strategies that reinforce user-centered mental models for new features . Translate, evolve and expand YouTube's emerging design system to make it usable, delightful and beautiful on high-end XR platforms. Build strong relationships and effective communication channels across the organization, including Android XR, YouTube Design Systems, and beyond.
