UX Data Designer

Job Summary The UX Data Designer will support the development of a new compliance application intended to replace an existing Power BI front end and improve how compliance insights are visualized, interpreted, and acted upon across the organization. This role combines Human-Centered Design, data visualization expertise, UX strategy, and hands-on design execution to create intuitive, user-focused experiences. The designer will work closely with product owners, engineers, data teams, and compliance stakeholders to translate backend outputs into clear, accessible interactions and interfaces. Responsibilities include leading user research, creating design concepts in Figma, developing workflows, and contributing to the UX strategy to support long-term product scalability and potential commercialization. Key Responsibilities Apply Human-Centered Design principles to research, design, and validate user workflows and data interactions. Conduct user interviews, usability testing, and research synthesis to guide product decisions. Translate complex compliance data into dashboards, alerts, timelines, and other visual indicators. Create wireframes, prototypes, and UI concepts in Figma. Develop interaction models and UI components supporting compliance tracking and data transparency. Convert backend constraints into intuitive front-end design solutions. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and maintain UX quality throughout development. Work with compliance subject matter experts, developers, business stakeholders, and data teams. Present design rationale, research findings, and recommendations clearly and effectively. Participate in agile ceremonies, design reviews, and roadmap planning discussions. Support design exploration and documentation related to innovation and potential patents. Contribute to evolving the tool into a scalable, marketable product for external energy industry use. Explore new ways to visually represent data, deadlines, and risk indicators beyond standard dashboards. Required Qualifications Completed bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Strong foundation in Human-Centered Design and user research practices. Proficiency in Figma for prototyping, collaboration, and interface design. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical partners. Experience designing UX, UI, or product experiences for data-heavy systems. Ability to create intuitive visual representations of complex information. Comfort working in emerging or ambiguous product environments. Familiarity with agile workflows and cross-functional team collaboration. 3+ years of UX design experience. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data dashboards. Ability to work onsite in West Jupiter, FL. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing data dashboards or analytical interfaces. Exposure to Power BI, data modeling concepts, or compliance-related tools. Understanding of enterprise application workflows and large-scale system design. Experience supporting innovation or patent-related product efforts.
