Job Description

Description Essential Functions Conducts interface implementation for installation projects by working closely and collaboratively with technical project managers, field technicians, and vendor personnel. Analyze interface specifications from both sending and receiving systems to determine feasibility and interface methodology. Maintain interfaces based on user requirement changes, and/or modifications to data formats, hardware platforms, or protocols, of either the sending or receiving systems. Troubleshoot interface issues and document interfaces and incidents as required. Analyzes and independently identifies complex problems within the interface software. Takes appropriate course of action critical to the operation of the interface to remedy problems and issues identified. Participates in thorough testing during system upgrades and installment of new applications. Maintains an understanding of clinic-wide applications as well as those applications with which it interfaces. Assists in the development and implementation of application policies, procedures, and standards. Applies and tests most current software versions. Support - on call Requirements Required Education and Experience - Associate degree with major in Information System or Computer Science or Epic Certifications plus three years HL7 experience or five years HL7 experience in lieu of education requirements. Experience with HL7 and EDI interfaces preferred. Solid understanding of healthcare IT and software implementation methodology. Strong background in designing, developing, testing, and implementing a full project life cycle is required. If not previously certified, must acquire and maintain Epic Certifications within 180 days of employment. Must obtain Open Link and Epic Bridges certification within one year of assuming position. Certification must be maintained while assigned to this position. Ability to troubleshoot and solve interface and technical issues. General understanding and experience with SQL, Oracle, general networking concepts. Skilled in Microsoft Office products.
