Job Title:
Communications and Design Lead Job Description We are seeking a skilled communications and design professional to help shape and elevate the Digital Engineering brand. In this role, you will create high-impact presentations, narratives, and visual materials that clearly communicate our strategy, initiatives, and business value — including GenAI and other digital transformation efforts. You will work closely with engineering leaders, product managers, and technical teams to translate complex technical work into compelling stories that resonate with executives, partners, and broader business audiences. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong visual design skills with strategic communication and the ability to understand technical content. Responsibilities Lead the creation of polished, executive-ready presentations that communicate Digital Engineering strategy, progress, and business impact. Translate complex technical topics, such as GenAI and automation, into clear, engaging narratives tailored to different audiences. Develop and maintain a cohesive visual identity and branding approach for Digital Engineering. Partner with engineering and product leaders to craft messaging for reviews, strategy sessions, roadmaps, and cross-functional updates. Create diagrams, infographics, and visual frameworks that simplify technical workflows, architectures, and value streams. Build reusable templates, slide libraries, and communication assets that improve consistency and efficiency. Support change management and adoption efforts by producing clear, compelling materials that help teams understand the 'why' and 'how' behind digital initiatives. Ensure all communications reinforce clarity, credibility, and alignment with enterprise branding standards. Provide guidance to teams on effective storytelling, visual communication, and message framing. Essential Skills Strong expertise in presentation design using tools such as PowerPoint and Google Slides. Proven ability to simplify and communicate technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Strong writing, editing, and narrative-building skills. Experience collaborating with technical teams and leaders. Strong visual design sense, including layout, hierarchy, and information design. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in communications, branding, design, or technical storytelling roles. Experience supporting digital transformation, engineering, or technology organizations. Familiarity with GenAI concepts and the ability to incorporate them into messaging and visuals. Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or Canva. Experience creating infographics, visual frameworks, or conceptual diagrams. Understanding of change management communication principles. Ability to coach others on effective communication and presentation techniques. Work Environment Work in a dynamic environment where you will collaborate with engineering and product teams to drive the Digital Engineering brand. Utilize design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or Canva to create modern, engaging presentations and visual materials. The role demands creativity, strategic thinking, and the ability to engage audiences with compelling narratives. You will be instrumental in branding the AI team and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards. The position requires flexibility to manage multiple projects and deliver under tight timelines Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
