Position Summary McCormick Taylor's internship program is designed to ensure our interns gain as much real ‐ world experience as possible. The Creative Development team within our Marketing department supports both internal company initiatives and client projects providing a range of creative and technology services including website and application development, graphic design and illustration, 3D rendering, video production and animation, digital marketing, and communications. We are looking for enthusiastic, collaborative individuals who are eager to learn about web and application development in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry and contribute to the success of our firm. Qualified candidates will have coding capability in at-least one programming language, strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask and take initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an innate curiosity about the work that we do and the impact it has on the world around us.
Job Requirements Responsibilities:
Research:
Review existing web products, including code, analytics, and technical/UX/UI documentation to gain an understanding of the products' structure, features, resources, business requirements, user needs, and areas for improvement.
Coordination:
Coordinate and help to plan development tasks and timelines in coordination with Project Managers, Designers, and fellow Developers. Participate in team and project-specific meetings. Coordinate and communicate with team members to develop, review, and refine project materials.
Design & Development:
Create and/or provide feedback on prototypes, user flow diagrams, and page inventories to conceptualize designs in preparation for development. Develop overall concepts for improving user experience to ensure all interactions are intuitive and accessible. Contribute to development of product code, databases, and content management systems. Assist with setting up project and file management solutions. Coordinate with managers to define and complete projects tasks, and to create levels-of-effort estimates for product development tasks.
Qualifications:
Some College and/or coding bootcamp experience. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Some programming ability. Some frontend coding ability in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Ability to share a sample project(s) to demonstrate coding ability (school, internship, bootcamp, or freelance projects are all applicable).
