This position will support the development of intuitive, user-focused digital experiences that align with the organization's brand, business objectives, and commitment to high-quality design. This role will contribute throughout the design lifecycle, from initial concepts and research through implementation, helping translate user needs and business requirements into effective web and mobile experiences. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to grow their UI/UX skills while contributing to thoughtful, high-quality digital solutions. This is a 6+ month contract that will pay $35-40/hr (depending on experience) within a 24-hour workweek. This position supports a hybrid work model, onsite 3 days per week in their Boston office.
Responsibilities:
Partner with senior and lead designers to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that align with user needs, business goals, and brand standards. Support the design and enhancement of intuitive, accessible, and visually consistent web and mobile interfaces. Assist with user research, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform design decisions. Participate in design reviews, clearly communicate design concepts, incorporate feedback, and ensure solutions meet project and user requirements. Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to ensure designs, specifications, and assets are implemented accurately. Develop and maintain user personas, journey maps, user flows, and other UX documentation to support a consistent user experience. Stay current on emerging UI/UX trends, tools, technologies, and best practices. Prepare, organize, and deliver design assets and specifications for development handoff, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. 2
- 4 years of UI/UX design experience, including internships, freelance work, or relevant academic/project experience.
Strong understanding of UI design principles, UX methodologies, accessibility, and user-centered design. Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, or similar design and prototyping tools. Working knowledge of HTML and CSS to effectively collaborate with development teams. Experience creating wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and other UX/UI deliverables. Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or a comparable content management system. Strong attention to detail and visual design skills, with a focus on producing accurate, high-quality work. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in a structured, team-oriented environment.
