A User Interface or User Experience (UI / UX) Designer assists with technology design to make products easier for people to use. Determines user preferences and assesses the process that users follow to access product functions; develops and tests new design models, and incorporates findings in to improved product design. Researches the behavior of internet users and consumers, compiles information about the target audience for a site, and develops website layout, design and technology features that improve accessibility and value for users.

Job Description
- Design application interfaces with a focus on workflow, integration, user interaction, and data visualizations, and proactively identifies ways to improve processes and systems
- Collaborate with developers to translate designs into elegant user experiences
- Establish and maintain good relationships across departments and business areas
- Participate in walkthroughs to ensure quality and consistency of designs
- Own self-development, staying current with UX techniques and tools, and demonstrate out of the box thinking
- Proactively and clearly communicate with all levels of leadership and varying sizes of stakeholder audiences, advocating for the end user Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Instructional Design or Computer Science preferred, or related work experience
- 8+ years of experience applying user experience principles to visual and interaction design
- Proficient in responsive design techniques, data visualization, and interaction design
- Proficient with rapid prototyping tools (i.e. InVision, Sketch, Balsamiq)
- Proficient in visual design, with solid understanding of typography, layout, and color theory
- Ability to multi-task and participate in multiple, large and complex efforts
- Good attention to detail, and able to solve a range of design challenges with some guidance
- Responds well to direction, embraces feedback and change
- Proficient in understanding UX research methodologies
- Knowledgeable of HTML, CSS, and jQuery/JavaScript

- This is a Contract position based out of Remote, OR.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
