Utilizing familiarity with game design and user interface systems
Utilizing effective communication through verbal and written methods
Working closely with colleagues from multiple technical disciplines in a team environment to understand system requirements, functions, and interfaces, while also able to work independently on assigned tasking
Interfacing with external vendors and Government customers
Working across multiple projects simultaneously #LI-LL1 Requirements Bachelor's degree in relevant technical discipline and two years of experience or equivalent combination of education/experience
Experience in the following graphic design tools: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and/or Substance 3D Painter, Autodesk Maya and/or Autodesk 3ds Max
User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) expertise
Interpersonal skills that augment performance within a team environment Desired Skills Art fundamentals, strong grasp of proportion/perspective/composition; understanding of style consistency
Visual design principles, color theory, typography, spacing and composition; design systems and component libraries
3D modeling, hard-surface, clean topology, proper edge flow, optimized geometry
Texturing and UV mapping efficient unwrapping for hand-painted/photo-based textures; understanding PBR workflows
Materials & shading creating and tweaking materials for realism; understanding how shaders behave in various rendering engines
Lighting & rendering, knowledge of light setups for both realism and mood; familiarity with real-time and offline rendering pipelines
Game engine optimization, creating assets that run efficiently in real-time engines; understanding level of detail and polycount budgets; ability to create reusable elements of UI that can be colored at run-time; optimize UI elements to ensure frame rate is not impacted by overly complex interactions/layering
User-Centered design, conducting user research and usability testing; creating user personas, customer journeys and empathy maps; understanding accessibility and inclusive design standards
Information architecture structuring/organizing content logically; designing navigation systems, menus and flows
Wireframing & prototyping, low- and high-fidelity wireframes; interactive prototypes for testing and presentation
Interaction design, microinteractions, animation and responsive layouts
Ability to present and defend design decisions with data and rationale
Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, After Effects, Unity, Git Clearance Information
