Job Description

Kägwerks designs and develops rugged, tactical operator-worn communications technologies that enable unmatched connectivity and integrated secure networking for the individual war fighter. We strive to increase the survivability and lethality of the war fighter on the battlefield. We do so by providing unmatched integrated tactical communications solutions that help further our national security objectives. About the Role Kägwerks is seeking a UI/UX Designer to lead the design of mission-critical user experiences across Android and Windows platforms in highly constrained, security-focused environments. This role focuses on designing native, high-performance user experiences that integrate with the TAK ecosystem and operate reliably in real-world operational conditions. You will take ownership of UX direction across multiple products, working closely with engineers and end users to ensure designs are both technically feasible and operationally effective. This is a high-impact role where you will help define design standards, influence product direction, and contribute to a consistent user experience across platforms. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver intuitive, mission-ready UI/UX for Android and Windows applications Create high-fidelity designs, interaction flows, and prototypes using Figma Establish and evolve a unified cross-platform design system Translate complex technical and operational requirements into clear user workflows Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure practical implementation Optimise user experiences for real-world operational conditions Conduct user feedback sessions and usability evaluations Produce design documentation and reusable assets Drive UX consistency across products Contribute to product and UX strategy About You You are an experienced designer who thrives in complex environments where usability directly impacts outcomes. You are comfortable designing for native, constrained systems and take ownership of your work. You balance visual design and interaction design effectively, ensuring clarity, speed, and usability in demanding environments. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated by building products used in real-world scenarios. Benefits and Culture Our culture is supportive and collaborative.
