This is your chance to step behind the curtain and see just how escape rooms work their magic. EscapeWorks is growing, and we're looking to hire game masters to help operate our imaginative rooms. This position is cross-trained between both downtown locations: Convention Center (15th & Champa) and Ballpark (19th & Blake).

JOB DUTIES

Facilitate a memorable customer experience by guiding guests through rooms and ensuring that their experience meets expectations. Introduce guests to their room experiences by performing rehearsed introduction. Ensure that rooms are properly cleaned and reset between games. Fix and upgrade small puzzles/props where needed. Engage with customers to deliver a satisfying game time. Offer insights on how to make the customer experience more engaging or intuitive. Work as part of a growing team to help EscapeWorks expand as a brand.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Effective communication. Our brand's strongest asset is the people running our rooms. We want to ensure that all customer experiences are friendly, intuitive, and accommodating. Attention to detail. Proper room resets require a sharp eye and a deep understanding for how players will interact with the puzzles. Ability to think on your feet. There's never a dull moment at EscapeWorks. Because of this, we want to ensure that our employees are able to identify and solve potential problems before they impact players. Ability to learn quickly. There's a lot to learn in this industry and our games are always evolving. We value people that can pick up our process quickly and learn on the job. Professional punctuality. Things happen quickly at EscapeWorks, and we need everybody to be on time to ensure that our schedules run smoothly. Mobility. This job involves lifting objects, getting quickly from room-to-room, and assisting with potential prop maintenance. We ask that applicants be physically able to handle these responsibilities. Creativity and input. Responsibilities in this position will sometimes call for a craetive solution. As we continiously work to improve our rooms, input and ideas from the gamemasters are always encourgaed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

A passion for storytelling. Escape rooms offer customers a chance to go on all sorts of adventures. We're looking for people who are just as excited about these games as the players are. An outgoing personality suitable for performing. Our Game Masters are the personification of our customers' interactive experience, embodying and acting out the role to lead customers through the challenges and immersive experience designed into the room set. Previous experience in an interactive medium. While this is not required, we're always looking for people who have worked in haunted houses, theatre projects, or other mediums that place the customer inside the story. A strong work ethic. This industry is constantly evolving, and staying ahead of the curve means putting in the work. We're always looking for people who pride themselves in going above and beyond expectations. Ability to work "retail hours." This means the times that EscapeWorks is busiest, evenings and weekends.

HOURS:

Game masters begin by working 20 hours per week. Most of the games occur on weekends and evenings, making this job flexible around classes and other commitments. As game masters hone their skills, we like to identify new opportunities for them. Our brand is always growing and we are looking for people interested in growing with it.

BONUS OPPORTUNITIES

While Game masters begin their hourly wage at minimum wage, they are always eligible for bonus incentives through online reviews, rebooking sales, and can accept tips from customers via Venmo.
