Summary Magna Publications is seeking a talented Web Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly web designs that enhance our online presence and support our mission of delivering exceptional educational resources. This position is crucial for ensuring that our digital platforms effectively engage faculty and staff. Responsibilities Lead design on all website projects including navigation, landing page design, graphics selection, layout Create websites, micro-sites, landing pages, and apply all meta data with images, and sites as needed Create ads, brochures, flyers, postcards and other promotion materials using copy supplied by the marketing team Create signs, programs, and other support materials for conferences Lead branding strategy Manage photos, images, and other graphic assets as well as manage stock photography accounts to comply with usage requirements Requirements Proven experience as a Web Designer or similar role with a strong portfolio of web design projects. Hybrid position--work from home and able to work 1-2 days each week in our Madison, WI office. Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Elementor, InDesign, HTML, and Powerpoint Strong sense of design and what is visually appealing while focused on what generates expected results Strong understanding of color theory, typography, layout design and usability principles, especially for websites Proficiency in graphic design, art and psychology with a sense of how different elements work together on a web page Competency in handling content management systems (CMS) like WordPress A creative thinker with excellent visual communication skills, design multimedia skills and computer adeptness Project management and time management skills, with ability to prioritize multiple projects Interpersonal communication skills Initiative and drive Solid understanding of web development languages including
HTML, CSS, PHP.
Experience with WordPress or similar content management systems. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
