As a Front-End Software Engineer, you'll build and scale the mobile app experiences that installers, partners, and field teams rely on daily to deploy, commission, and maintain Tesla's energy and charging products worldwide. This fast-paced, rewarding role lets you drive meaningful progress toward Tesla's goal of sustainable energy for all and offers a great opportunity to design and influence the next generation of systems supporting Tesla Energy and Charging operations. What You'll Do Build responsive, secure, intuitive, fast, and beautiful mobile experiences for installers, field technicians, and channel partners across Tesla's energy and charging product lines Thrive in an agile environment, adapting quickly to evolving business needs and user feedback Collaborate with a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Product Managers, UX Designers, QA Engineers, and DevOps to own solutions from concept to production and beyond Form data contracts with partner teams for the pragmatic implementation of scalable features designed in concert with engineering, product, and design teams Own a portion of the Tesla app and care about its overall quality and performance, write documentation, and review code contributed by team members building in your space Apply first-principles thinking to continually optimize processes, enhance performance, and deliver exceptional field user experiences, faster What You'll Bring 5+ years of experience shipping secure, fast, and pixel-perfect mobile apps for iOS and Android, with a preference for experience building cross-platform apps with React Native Excellent knowledge of TypeScript and at least one other modern programming language (Golang, Swift, Kotlin, Scala, Rust, C++, etc.) Strong understanding of REST principles, best practices for building and consuming RESTful APIs, and experience with GraphQL as a plus Knowledge of mobile performance optimization, accessibility, security (OWASP guidelines), and offline-first or low-connectivity patterns relevant to field environments Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to enhance productivity and code quality Passion for Tesla's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $120,000 - $396,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
