Job Description

Essential Functions Translate product strategy into detailed development requirements for prototype, construction, and final product for the development team Collaborate closely with production, marketing, implementation teams, and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of software products Troubleshoot bugs and complex system requirements Implement designs and UI/UX improvements Provide timely and accurate status updates on testing progress, issues, and overall project health to project stakeholders. Assist in maintaining and updating test environments and test data. ​​Stay current with industry trends and best practices in software development methodologies. Basic Qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science, a related degree, or equivalent practical experience of 3+ years. 3+ years of professional programming experience Preferred Skills & Experience Demonstrated proficiency in object-oriented programming and how to apply them in Ruby for modular, maintainable code. Experience with SQL and Active Record, understanding database relationships, migrations, and optimizations. Managing code with Git, including branching, merging, and pull requests to facilitate collaborative development. Knowledge of RSpec or MiniTest for unit testing, as well as debugging techniques using tools like Pry, Byebug, and Rails console. Experience with building and consuming APIs (REST and GraphQL), and understanding JSON, XML, and serialization. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Tailwind and frameworks like React or Vue.js for integrating front-end elements with back-end code. Knowledge of web security and how to implement secure code practices in Ruby applications. Identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements in Ruby and Rails applications to optimize site performance Basic knowledge of deployment processes, server management, and using CI/CD tools (e.g., Docker, Jenkins) for streamlined code deployment.
