Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Backend/API Developer for a top enterprise client. This candidate will join a cross-functional development team building a centralized customer domain and shared services that support applications across the organization. The primary focus will be designing and developing highly scalable, enterprise-level APIs using Node.js, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, and PostgreSQL/RDS. The ideal candidate brings deep backend expertise, understands database performance and observability, and can take true ownership of application quality and maintainability. Experience with Kafka, DynamoDB, S3, and front-end development will be valuable as the platform continues to evolve.

Day-to-Day:

• Build enterprise-level APIs for a centralized customer domain
• Develop shared backend services that provide customer-specific information to front-end applications across the enterprise
• Design and develop APIs using Node.js, AWS Lambda, and API Gateway
• Build scalable, reliable backend services rather than application-specific BFFs
• Work with Step Functions, PostgreSQL/RDS, S3, and potentially Kafka/DynamoDB
• Optimize database and application performance
• Improve application observability, maintainability, and reliability
• Own development quality from design through ongoing application support
• Collaborate with a team of 3 developers, 1 QA, 1 Product Owner, and 1 Analyst
• Contribute to front-end work as needed, while maintaining a primary backend focusPay rate range: 60-65/hour Skills and Requirements
• Strong backend engineering experience with a focus on enterprise-level APIs
