Our client is investing in a modern web platform that enables consistent experiences across brands while staying flexible for future expansion. The organization values strong engineering fundamentals, thoughtful collaboration, and delivering reliable digital products that improve customer engagement and business outcomes. Role Summary We are seeking a Principal Web Engineer to lead the build out and ongoing evolution of enterprise brand websites as part of a broader digital platform strategy. This role will directly impact site performance, conversion, reliability, and the speed at which new features and brand experiences can be delivered. You will serve as the technical owner for web development, guiding design feasibility, leading implementation, and supporting production releases. In this role, you will drive front end engineering standards, partner closely with product and design, and help shape long term web architecture. You will influence roadmap planning for agile pods, evaluate feature feasibility, and mentor others through hands on leadership and strong communication. You will also contribute to modern delivery practices including CI/CD, experimentation, and cloud aware deployment strategies. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development and support for brand websites with an emphasis on performance, accessibility, and reliability
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for design discussions, feasibility analysis, and implementation guidance
  • Own end-to-end delivery for web initiatives, from planning and build through release and production support
  • Build and maintain React and Next.js based experiences, leveraging component driven development and design systems
  • Partner with product and technology leadership to plan pod work, scope deliverables, and evaluate feature requests
  • Drive experimentation and optimization efforts to improve conversion and user engagement
  • Support production releases, triage issues, and guide root cause analysis and remediation
  • Contribute to delivery best practices including testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment approaches Key Requirements
  • 10+ years of overall professional experience, including 5+ years building production websites with React
  • Expert level experience with React, Next.js, and modern JavaScript and TypeScript development practices
  • Strong proficiency with Tailwind CSS and building scalable, reusable UI components
  • Demonstrated ability to build highly performant, SEO friendly websites and troubleshoot performance edge cases
  • Experience integrating payments such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or similar methods, and supporting secure web flows
  • Experience consuming REST APIs and GraphQL services, and implementing feature flags and experimentation strategies
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts, cloud infrastructure fundamentals, and modern deployment strategies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business partners and lead effectively in an agile environment
