Job Description

Senior Backend Engineer Location:
Plano, TX (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite per week)
Duration:
6 months with potential to convert at 3 months Client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a contract‑to‑hire basis. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, consumer‑facing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize backend services for high‑volume platforms. Build and maintain scalable systems using Node.js and PostgreSQL (or equivalent relational databases). Write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets. Leverage AI tools in day‑to‑day engineering workflows to improve productivity and innovation. Architect distributed systems with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability. Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure as code. Work with cloud environments (Google Cloud or AWS) to deploy and manage backend services. Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of backend software engineering experience. Strong expertise in Node.js and PostgreSQL . Advanced SQL skills with proven ability to handle complex queries. Demonstrated fluency with AI tools in engineering workflows. Experience building and scaling consumer‑facing platforms. Solid understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, and scalability principles. Hands‑on experience with DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud or AWS). Entrepreneurial mindset with a self‑driven, ownership mentality. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
